Houndwave is Adelaide’s pooch friendly music festival and doggy day out. Our second event was held in Light Square Adelaide, on Saturday 7th April and is supported by Splash Adelaide. 2000 + people and over 1000 dogs joined us for a pawsome day.. so many happy furry and human faces. 2018 saw the introduction of a partnership with Adelaide MINI Garage with lots of giveaways, including winning a MINI for a weekend.
Houndwave includes live music from dog loving musicians, market stalls, competitions, agility demo’s, dog related market stalls, food, wine. Our Vet partners Adelaide Vet were on site for ask a vet sessions, Advance Behavioural Training joined us for Agility training demos and opportunities. Doggy do’s were available, canine massage and general well being information.
We support our charity partners .. RSPCA SA and Animal Welfare League SA. This year we also included SA Dog Rescue, Animals Australia and Guardian Angel Animal Rescue.

Houndwave — Adelaide’s pooch-friendly music festival is back.. humans must attend with a dog or #mustlovedogs. Our inaugural Houndwave in 2017 saw 800 dogs and 1400 humans enjoy a day of live music, markets, info sessions, competitions, food and wine, in the City of Adelaide. We loved it so much we are back for another year and hope you can join us.
We’ve got some of Adelaide’s best emerging live music, lots of stall holders, must-see info sessions and prizes from AdelaideVet, Adelaide Mini Garage, Dog City Day Care, Dandelion Vineyard and other exhibitors and sponsors.
We have a new Principal Partner Adelaide MINI Garage and will have an exciting prize up for grabs on event day so Dress to Impress!
Competitions with prizes .. “best dressed dog” and “best trick” . Advanced Behavioural Training will be on site with agility demos and some dog yoga.
We have food and wine .. (the event is licensed and is not BYO). Bring along a picnic blanket, we are GLASS free so no glass of anykind please – broken glass is not good for paws or feet!
This is a dog-friendly event and children are also welcome. We have a kidzone with the Imagination play ground, face painting, colouring in etc. Cats: not welcome.
All dogs must be on a lead at all times and we ask that your dogs be socialised. Aggressive or antisocial behaviour is not appropriate and you may be asked to leave. Visit House Rules and Weather Policy for extra info.
We’ll be raising money for the RSPCA South Australia and Animal Welfare League SA so please come along with a generous spirit.
